TPS 117: Pioneering Mums – Pinky and Farmer From PinkFarm
Friday May 15, 2015
Friday May 15, 2015
“Pinkfarm” has been created by 2 friends on a real food journey; learning, sharing, creating, inspiring and challenging politically correct nutrition. A country girl living on a farm on the beautiful Atherton Tablelands with a bustling house of 5 children and a city girl living in a metro Sydney townhouse with 1 child.
They focus on incorporating traditional foods, cultured foods and healthy fats into their daily lives and inspire each other to walk the talk. They prioritise eating breakfast like a King and eliminating processed foods from their lives. They, along with their families have achieved better living without refined sugar on a daily basis.
They have helped many people overcome the dilemma of trying to work out where they can purchase their starter culture from by creating one of the first national databases of people who are happy to share their kefir grains or kombucha SCOBY with you, which you can find on their pinkfarm.com.au website.

Transitioning to a Paleo lifestyle can be pretty overwhelming. Once you wrap your head around what exactly you should be eating the next step is to work out where the heck you can buy it. Today’s guest has come up with a genius solution to solve this problem. He created an amazing app called Paleo Paddock, created to enable people who are following the Paleo lifestyle to easily locate outlets that are Paleo friendly. As it is location based it will find locally listed butchers, restaurants, health supply shops and anything connected to Paleo. Founded in 2014 by Rob Hanning, Paleo Paddock was created to bring local merchants back onto the shopping lists and give people striving for better health more options to find their produce and resources. Talk about making the Paleo lifestyle easy and accessible for everyone!

As we know, the Paleo lifestyle and in particular paleo diet has become a powerhouse movement that has swept the globe. People are beginning to realize how important what we put into our bodies really is. What many people neglect to consider is what exactly they are putting into their mouth on a daily basis in order to keep their teeth and gums healthy! It turns out there is an excellent approach to dental health that also happens to be PALEO APPROVED.

This we’re joined by an amazing home school mum, health coach, fellow Wellness Coucher, speaker and an all round inspiration to those parents out there who have children with special health needs who are on their own healing journey to recovery. She believes that her children are here to teach her lessons that she is continually learning. She ignored the signs of imbalance to the point that her family became quite ill and didn’t act until it became very evident it was becoming a problem for her children. She believes that along with husband Mark, that they are their custodians and they very much intend to honour the commitment as parents to get them through to adulthood with all the goodness available to them from the blessings of knowing others, having amazing peers, supportive family and community, and constant education.

Given all of the flack that Paleo (and even our own show) has been receiving of late from some dieticians and their respective associations you might think that a dietician would be the last person we would invite onto That Paleo Show, but you know what, we don’t work that way! So strap yourselves in for a dietician with a difference as she shares her personal story, the amazing results she has gained from her clients and the challenges she finds being a dietician that is going ‘against the grain’.
